    • Was the founder of Dal Riata dynasty of Argyll and Kintyre (Scotland). He came with his brothers, Angus and Loarn, from Ireland and established a settlement in Scotland. Acceded 490.

The Dal Riata, the people from which the Scottish kings are descended from, were originally settled on the north east coast of Ireland. Perhaps as early as the third century, and no later than the fifth century, they began to settle on the west coast of what is now Scotland. It is in the late fifth century that the names begin to take on some historical credibility. In any case, the ruling dynasty of the Dal Riata had established itself in the area corresponding to modern Argyll by the late fifth century. Almost all historians, with one or two notable exceptions, accept unbroken descent from Fergus Mor, the first king of Dal Riata, to the present day. Most historians believe that the long line of Irish Monarchs back to Adam were fabricated by medieval monks. Stuart begins his line with Eochaid Muinremur, Fergus' grand father.
